Wouldn't it be nice if there were a "Blue Book" for horses? Unfortunately there isn't, which is why you need the services of a professional appraiser. McCarron Equine Appraisals can provide you with a current market value of your horse. I am a certified equine appraiser with over 33 years in the horse industry. Member of the American Society of Equine Appraisers.

What is an Equine Appraisal?

An Equine Appraisal is a service created to establish current market values of horses for purposes such as sales, purchases, insurance claims and policies, donations and litigation for both private owners and insurance companies. Horses are considered personal property and fall under the same guidelines. A professional report is created for each appraisal. This service is vital to all horse owners as well as attorneys, accountants, financial institutions and insurance companies that deal with cases involving horses.

*Due to a typically unknown IRS fact, you must get a qualified appraisal made by a qualified appraiser if donating a horse over $5,000 USD. (IRS Publication 561)
